Time to Party!

On Saturday night, March 28th, Icing Images is throwing the Biggest Birthday Bling Bash to celebrate the National Capital Area Cake Show's 10 year Anniversary with partial proceeds will benefit Cancer Awareness. 

For only $100 per ticket, every person who attends this Bling Bash will win a gift basket worth $50 or more!  In addition, we will partake in a delicious Dinner Buffet, Drinks, and Dancing! Special guest Blāque Shelton of Black Rose Pastries and Debbie Coughlin, Founder of Icing Images, will be emceeing the event. 

Prizes will be awarded for those who wear BLINGED OUT attire!

You will not want to miss this event.

Youth Activities

The National Capital Area Cake Show strongly believes that children are our future decorators. Their creative minds will take decorating to places we never believed it could go.  For a minimal price, children can attend hands-on classes to flex their creative muscles. Young ones can learn how to create special goodies. Classes taught by experienced decorators! 

Sorry parents, no one over the age of 17 can participate in these classes, but they can watch children have fun!

Here are the available classes:  

Saturday: 2:00-3:30 pm  (9-14 years) 

        Sassy Rabbit and Silly Mouse made with marshmallows -  Students will make a     rabbit and mouse using marshmallows. They will learn to use royal icing, markers and molds.

Sunday 11:00am:-12:00 pm:  (5-8 years)              

       Happy Mr Rabbit In  His Happy Garden - Students will make Mr Rabbit in a garden of carrots and flowers out of fondant and gumpaste.

Rabbit will be hand molded and flowers and little rabbits will made using molds and cutters.

Sunday 1:00-2:30pm (9-14  years)         

    Green Frog and His Friend Little Mouse  - Students will make frog and mouse out of fondant and flowers from cutters.

Activities are first come first served so sign up early. 

Arrive 10 minutes prior to class time.


Note: Participants in YouthActivites must have a 

General Admission Wristband. 


Cupcake Challenge/Social

Compete or Eat!

Professional, amateur and junior bakers can bring their best mini cupcakes to the challenge where they will compete to impress tasters with Sweet and Savory flavors! 

Tasters purchase tickets to judge for a "Peoples Choice" award.  

What will you be tasting? Jalapeno/chocolate, cheese/jelly, or ranch/vanilla? 

To participate in the tasting of these treats, purchase tickets in the Collaboration 1 room on the day of the show.

Tasting tickets $1.00 each or $5.00 for 6 mini-cupcakes.

 Note: Participants in CupCake Social/Challenge must have a 

General Admission Wristband. 


Bake Sale & Souvenirs

A Cake Show is not a Cake Show without some sweet treats to eat! 

Enjoy scrumptious treats baked by volunteers from the Virginia area! 

Souvenirs may also be purchased at the bake sale area including mugs, tote bags, pot holders, autograph aprons (there will be plenty of TV Cake Celebrities walking around, so bring a marker!) and more!



How much fun would it be for your child to decorate their own cookie or cupcake using all kinds of colorful decorations! Well at this cake show your kids can!  

They even get to take it home with them or eat it there! Yum!!!

Cookies or CupCakes  $1.00 each (while supplies last).

 Note: Participants in Make-N-Take must have a 

General Admission Wristband. 



The National Capital Area Cake show put together amazing raffle prize baskets.

Included in your General Admission is:

  • One free raffle ticket per paid guest
  • One free raffle ticket per cake entry
  • One free raffle ticket per hour of volunteering.
  • Additional tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00

Drawings will be held at the Awards Ceremony. 

You do not need to be present to win.

Cake Tours

 Make the most of your National Capital Area Cake Show experience! 

Knowledgeable guides will lead you on a tour of the cakes that are on display.  

They will explain the techniques used in the creation of the various show entries. 

Gain a greater understanding of the criteria the judges use to determine the winning cakes. 

Separate tours are offered for Divisional and Wedding show entries.

Awards Ceremony

The awards ceremony properly concludes the fun weekend events.

Children's awards begin Sunday at 4 pm. 

Adult awards, raffle winners, & The Sweet Life Award begin Sunday at 5 pm.

The awards ceremony is Emceed by B. Keith Ryder.

 Awards are handed out by TV personality Chef Norm and Chef Zane of The Sweet Life

Raffles prize winners of the raffles will be announced, in addition to The Sweet Life awards.
